The European based Sovereign Global Solution has recently published its decision to withdraw from the market of logistic offshore services for PMSC.

This step may have impact on on the market for maritime security logistic services, as the offshore storage capacity of the region will be cut by a quarter. SGS has been cooperating closely with Djibouti Maritime Security Services Ltd., which provided exclusive logistic services for the port of Djibouti.

Industry sources assume, that this step is the result of an still existing price race to the bottom for maritime security services, in which less compliant service providers had made profit with tolerating weapon sharing between PMSC.
